Every year in Port Jefferson New York there is a Charles Dickens Festival. The streets are lined with lights and decorated store windows. Characters are dressed up in period costumes and they speak with an old English accent. It is usually very cold out and this is the first time we attended the festival. There is a small parade at the end with the ghosts of Christmas past, present and the future. Thank goodness there was a Starbucks there so we were able to warm up with hot cocoa.
Oreo took people for rides around town.

Many of the people were in period costume.

The Mayor

Scrooge walked the streets telling everyone including dogs that Christmas was cancelled.

Santa's helper and live Reindeer.

Those white spots are fake snow that was thrown by Santa.

Cool old bike in a children's clothing shop.

That is my tour of a little old Dickens parade.
