Smug Democrats love to imagine they are a species apart from Sarah Palin, the "pit bull with lipstick." However, U.S. political history teaches us never to overestimate the intelligence of the American electorate, or trust a Democrat - many of whom were Republicans not very long ago. At root, Palin's supporters are "white nationalists," the same people that adored Ronald Reagan and, yes, George Bush. So why is it so hard to imagine a Palin presidency?

Well, there's always the Republican Loyalty Oath (or whatever they're calling it) to give us hope. If they actually adopt it, even if Palin actually WERE elected, there wouldn't be any Republicans in Congress to back her.
And doesnt the fact that Palin quit her governorship bother you in the slightest? She cant handle being a governor of a state with less people than Atlanta GA how can she handle being POTUS?
Obama, on the other hand, has that community organizer thing about which he can boast. Oh yeah, and two books that he supposedly wrote.
I would like further explaination on that one Marilyn. I guess I dont get my question answered. Very telling.
Well, Carla, Palin did work as a sportscaster, remember? And she has helped her husband in his business.
Not sure how being a sportscaster would qualify you to be POTUS. I used to help my dad in his contracting business does that mean I am now qualified to rewire your house?
Lame even for you Marilyn.
something tells me 2012 is going to be VERY entertaining - it's already titled
"Republicans eating their own"
Palin might appeal to the extreme right but she doesnt have much support with the middle roaders and independents.
My uncle is one of the middle Repubs and he was never so disgusted with McCain when he picked Palin and he is even more disgusted now that factions of the Republicans are still supporting her. He wont vote for her and I imagine there are many, many more like him out there.
Or, with anybody with an education and common sense! Honestly, can you see corporate business executives or professionals voting for this female clown?!? Do you really think they would even consider such a thing?
So that cuts down the Republican party to what? 50...60 people.
Her populist position is shallow at best when it comes down to the issues, she will be torn to shreds.
IF she is going to have ANY sort of chance - she had better make her position on the economy clear, offer a solid plan to stimulate job growth and fix healthcare and not just parrot the right wing talking points
If Obama fails we need strong leaders who think outside the Washihgton box and stand up to special interest and enemies who want to undermine our national security.
Sorry Caribu Barbie, unless you coherently sate what your plan for this country is - the best you will do si Divide the Republicans and guarentee the Democrats another 4 years - but not nessisarily with Obama
Does not need to be intelligent or knowledgeable to get the so called conservative vote of the rabble.
They love her most because, as they say, "she is just like them. '
She has a fix for the economy,
cut taxes, deregulate, (see Regan buzz)
drill baby drill
then after reading their ideas, re-registered Dem.
I am a born liberal.
There are people I would like to censor ~ such as Howard Stern ~ but if I go against the Constitution's guarantee of liberty, by trying to censor others, someone might decide to censor, oh, Alice Walker or J. D. Salinger. Each time we deny other citizens freedom we open ourselves up to having a freedom we enjoy taken from us.
The other reason I do not favor Palin is that she took office as Mayor when Wasela had a balanced budget and left a large deficeit when her term was over. We have enough elected officials who do not understand basic economics to put even more in office.
