I'm sorry that it had to come out this way. Whatever anyone's sexual preference is, is their business, no one else's. She's a private person and knew she was going to be 'outed', so she had to go on national TV and admit it. How sad.

Kelly, the only issue I have with her coming out is that in that particular inteview, which ironically I read on Perez, was that she seemed to bash her ex-husbands in a way that I didn't think was necessary - especially considering that she has five children with either one or all three of them. For me watching the interview it sort of took away the fascinating aspect that she was coming out of the closet after the majority of her lifetime she has lived as a heterosexual woman (although I think most folks are in the middle of the road about their sexuality). The fact that she seemed to have been living with her paramour for four years under the radar was interesting along with her idea that coming out in a way was a political statement. I suppose that I took her statements at face value that she had been lucky that her family and friends were supportive thus I felt that by backhandedly tainting the reputation of all of her exs, because she wasn't specific on why she found the relationships bad (although she says that she picked bad mates) she was insulting her children.

as a hetero male, I am all for lesbians being themselves. I think it could be done without recriminations involving the former life. After all, the ex husbands married her thinking she was hetero in orientation, right?

Yeah ... and it seems like I just stumbled over this here on Gather, and ... well, who cares? And she seems so quick to be accusatory of her ex'es about abuse and whatever. Maybe she is just confused.
