Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a huge pizza fan. I have a dream of one day having my own outdoors pizza oven, and when I watched one being built on HGTV yesterday it set me into pizza mode.
Â
I made my own dough:
2 cups of milk
1 package of dry yeast
2 eggs
salt
Flour (until the dough is perfect)
Â
Warm the milk a bit, stir in the dough. Add the eggs and salt and mix. Start adding a bit of flour, and when you can no longer use the whisk start kneading with your hands. Let the dough stand in the bowl covered with a piece of cloth for 30 minutes to 1 1/2 hour.
Â
Sauce: In a food processor/food chopper add 1/2 - 1 can of diced tomatoes. 1 handful of fresh basil (or a tsp. of dried basil), add fresh or dried oregano, and 1-2 gloves of garlic.
Mix and put it pot and let it simmer until needed. Add salt, ketchup and/or tomato puree depending on your taste buds.
I like to be generous with my sauce, so I added quite a bit.
My toppings:
red onion
sliced tomatoes
green pepper
olives
spinach
pineapple
Fresh shredded mozzarella cheese
Â
After the pizza came out of the oven I topped it with dried oregano.
Â
The result was one amazingly taste pizza, and I have to admit that it actually tasted better than the ones from the pizzeria.

I did use one secret "ingredient", but to see what it was you will have to check out my blog FrugalMom's Favorite Things.
Â
Of course everything from the flour to the Spinach was bought on sale and/or with coupons to make it a very frugal meal.
What is your favorite pizza topping?
