Sectionals are getting nearer on Glee Episode 11. Will believes that Sue is sneaking his song lists to an opposing school, Jane Adams, and when he goes to investigate, he winds up offending their Glee director, played by Eve. In order to make amends, he invites them over to
their school for a friendly scrimmage. The group is mostly made up of minority girls, who deliver a high energy performance of Destiny's Child's "Bootilicious." Rachel sees Will is intimidated, and tells him it's all "hairography" and smoke and mirrors, rather than real singing and dancing talent. This, of course, gives Will the idea to have the lead song from the musical "Hair" as their new set for sectionals--and provides wigs for all the gentlemen as well.
Quinn continues to be charmed by Puck, and starts to think maybe she should be with him instead (duh!). She also thinks maybe with him she'd want to keep the baby (please no). She decides Finn must be distracted while she takes Puck for a "test drive," and realizes Rachel is the perfect foil. She enlists Kurt to give her a makeover to make her more desirable to Finn (wait--has that ever been a problem in the past?), but when he finds out she's in love with Finn, he decides to sabotage her instead. "I know for a fact that Finn likes loose women," he tells Rachel, and tells her she should look like Sandy from Grease--when she goes all spandex at the end. The plan works like a charm and Rachel and Finn soon have a date to hang out Friday night.
Terri is getting nervous that Will is going to find out she's not pregnant, so she buys him an old car to fix up to distract him. Meanwhile, Quinn pays a visit to Terri and her sister and tells them she's keeping the baby. Terri's sister, Kendra, says they'll get Quinn to babysit for her kids, and after spending time with them she'll definitely want to give the baby up. Quinn takes the opportunity to invite Puck along with her. The kids go nuts, of course, but Quinn and Puck get them to calm down by performing Madonna's "Papa Don't Preach." The kids somehow become angels after this and Quinn and Puck seem to take on this whole parenting thing fine. Her bubble is burst when Santana comes up to Quinn and claims that Puck is her boyfriend--and they were "sexting" the whole time the two of them were babysitting. Maybe Puck isn't daddy material after all.
Rachel and Finn's date doesn't go well either. When she emerges in full Sandy costume, Finn is forced to jump up and tell her he's uncomfortable with her new look. He also mentions that Kurt had asked him what type of girls he liked, and he told him natural-looking ones. Rachel realizes she's been set up and approaches Kurt, who hurtfully tells her neither of them have a chance. Meanwhile, Quinn confronts Puck who tells her he isn't going to change who he is for a baby--showing a completely unbelievable side of his character. Quinn goes back to Terri and tells her she can have the baby. Finn and Quinn reunite and say they love each other. And Will gives up his new car for a mini van.
Sue and Will get into another screaming match about Glee club (sigh). Sue doesn't approve of the wigs because she thinks it's trying to overcompensate. Will isn't willing to change the song, so she retaliates by signing back on as co-director. Another school finds out that Will offered a invitation to Jane Adams because they didn't have an auditorium, they're infuriated and insist on an invite as well. The only thing is that this Glee club is deaf. Not tone deaf, just deaf. The New Directions perform a mash up of Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" and "Hair" complete with wigs. Their perofrmance doesn't impress the deaf students, however. Next up, the deaf kids perform John Lennon's "Imagine," with sign language and one student speaking the words. Mercedes chimes in, and gets up to start performing with them--sounding more beautiful than she ever has. Next is Artie, and slowly they're all up there singing, leaving Will near tears.
As the episode ends on a new, stripped down version of Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors," we split back to Sue Sylvester doing exactly what she told she wasn't--giving his set list to the other teams. She convinces Eve and the deaf coach that nothing should distract them from winning--and tell them to take some of the songs the New Directions are doing, and when they go last, it will make them look like they copied them. Oh well--at least "True Colors" was really pretty.
