Sons of Anarchy Season 2 Episode 12, the penultimate episode, opens on all the women and children packing their bags. Could they be going into safe hiding while SAMCRO takes care of the league? Sort of. They all go to the clubhouse, where they're put on lock down
under the watchful eyes of Piney and Gemma while the Sons prepare for some serious revenge against Zobelle. The other wives and girlfriends wait on Gemma and Tara hand and foot. Gemma explains that this is a sign of respect and Tara shouldn't take it lightly. Apparently shacking up with Jax has made her club royalty. Meanwhile, Clay reassures Chibs that his wife and daughter will be protected, and even have a plan to make Jimmy O believe the snitch are the two Irish gun dealers, not Chibs.
The episode then shuffles through the various appointments necessary to put their revenge plot in motion. First up is visiting Weston, Zobelle's number two, and letting him know that Zobelle is dealing heroin with the Mayans behind his back. Clay, Bobby and Tig visit Jimmy O and tell him the young Irish kid ratted on him to the ATF. Clay and Jax visit with the Asian gun dealer's leader, Henry Lin, and with Laroy, the drug dealer, to convince them to take down Zobelle. If they participate, they will also be taking down the Mayan's drug and gun business, thus opening the floodways for themselves. Lastly, Chibs pays a visit to Fiona and tries to convince her to come back to the club.
Weston claimed he didn't believe Jax about Zobelle's involvement with the Mayans, but of course that isn't true. He goes to investigate and finds a secret drug operation run by his fellow skinheads. In a pure psychopathic rage, he wipes them all out in moments, only stopping long enough to hear that the operation is sanctioned by Zobelle. Meanwhile, Zobelle is at his cigar shop when his daughter, Polly, comes in from a visit from her Irish love nest. He asks her whether or not she has feelings for the kid, which apparently she might (he also kisses her in a rather unfatherly way...perhaps their relationship isn't what it appears). Just then, Weston busts in with a gun and everything is tense for a bit. However, he leaves after telling Zobelle he makes him sick. He then finds out his kids are being committed to child services because they were left alone with firearms in the house (Unser made a call.) Weston and Jax have a run in, in which Weston tells Jax he'll kill him for this. Jax lets him know he knows about the gang rape. The two make a plan to meet in order to settle things.
Clay and Jimmie mastermind a plan to lure the ATF away from the Irish kid, Edmund's house, while they go in and take a very large shipment of guns. The ATF follow a car that they think has Jimmie O and a lot of guns in it. They follow the car, and all of SAMCRO, to the location where they think a deal will be going down, only to find there are no firearms and now IRA fun czars in sight. Edmund realizes, rightfully so, that he's been exposed as a snitch and is now a dead man.
Tara goes to the hospital to do some paper work and his cornered by the administrative woman who is filing the charges against her. After some snide comments from the woman, Tara has had enough. She tries telling the woman off, but when she then insults Gemma, Tara whips around and begins choking her. "This is assault!" The lady cries. What follows is the most intense session of female ass-whupping ever to grace cable television. "No, that was assault," Tara says, leaving the woman's face bloody. She then proceeds to tell her that she knows where she lives and where her kids go to school, and while the nonchalantly takes out her gun, states that all the charges against her better be dropped, or the lady will be sorry. Tara has officially turned into Gemma Junior.
SAMCRO goes to meet Weston for their fight--which is supposed to be ten on ten, no guns. Weston arrives with a few more than ten, all armed. "Fair is for losers," he says. "I'd rather win." After a pause, Jax says, "Yeah me too." Out comes all the buddies they had made that dead, decked out with guns. Last minute, everyone puts down their weapons and they go at it old fashioned style, beating the crap out of each other. However, earlier that day Hale had put a tail on Jax and Clay, and knows there whereabouts. He arrives before anyone is able to be killed, and ends up arresting Weston for arson (the one fingered guy survived the fire and went to the police to give his eye witness testimony). Weston leaves alive, but is headed off to jail.
Their next stop is the cigar shop, where Unser has already corned Polly. The rest of the guys arrive and are about to murder Zobelle when Hale, once again, walks in the door (he had found out that Unser let the rest of the cops have the night off, and realized that something was going down). Unser says he outranks him and tells him to leave because no crime has been committed. Just then, Zobelle tells the cops he has narcotics underneath the cash register. They find the heroin and are forced to arrest Zobelle and Polly. Before he walks out, Jax tells Zobelle they'll kill him, eventually. Actually, it might be easier for them to do inside prison, where Zobelle will have no protection. Man he didn't realize he was barking up the wrong tree when he had Gemma raped. Big mistake on his part. Another dynamite episode, and next week is the finale, in which I can only guess what ludicrous, tense, emotional things will occur.
