Yesterday Muppets Studio on YouTube released an amazing video of the Muppets singing 70’s glam rock sensation Queen’s hit, Bohemian Rhapsody. It’s been making the rounds and
going viral ever since. The video has many of your favorite Muppet personalities from Gonzo to Fozzie The Bear, from Beaker to the Swedish Chef. Janice looks especially hot at the end getting down on her knarly ax.
They take some liberties with the original Queen lyrics and beautifully make it completely family friendly while keeping to the quirky personality traits of specific Muppet characters. For example in the beginning, the original lyric is “Mama just killed a man, put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger, now he's dead” that lyric has now been expertly transformed into Animal just repeating the one word “Momma” in his own unique Animal style. The lyric is no longer about guns and death but about mommas. Later in the song Fozzie The Bear (the Muppets resident slapstick jokester) sings, “let me joke” instead of the original lyric of “let me go” brilliant!
Muppets Bohemian Rhapsody is a great take on the long favored and much beloved Queen rock opera song. And hasn’t been paid homage to, like this since Mike Myers and his cohorts over at Wayne’s World gave it a go in the 1992 Film of the same name. The video was also released in beautiful high definition.
