'Will Smith Dead,' supposedly in a car accident, is the latest fake (I hope) celebrity death rumor whispering it's way around the web. According to the Inquistr, the rumor is that Will Smith flipped his Porsche and died while driving in the Hollywood Hills earlier today.

What's even more suspect about this case is that I can't even find any material on the web trying to pass this off as real. The only coverage at this hour are, well, two or three other articles like this, reporting on the rumor.

So how the heck do we figure how the "Will Smith Dead" and "Kanye West Dead" and "Megan Fox Dead" rumors get started? Is it maybe a coordinated prank that makes use of search engines and their trend lists?
