CNN-
In an interview with CNN's Ed Henry in China, the president acknowledged Wednesday he would not be reading the highly-anticipated memoir by his potential 2012 opponent.
"I probably won't, but I don't get a chance to read things other than briefing books very often these days anyway," he said.
Oh no, here we go again. Before the chorus begins on Fox, Limbaugh-land, and Tea Party-ville, let's be clear. President Obama did not call "Going Rogue" a worthless piece of trash. He did not call Sarah Palin an incompetent writer with nothing useful to contribute to our national dialogue. In fact, he sugar-coated things considerably, and even went out of his way to be complimentary in describing Palin as a serious contender for 2012 with a large following, even though we all know that she carries too many negatives for too many voters at this point to be considered a viable candidate.
Then the President actually sort of implied that he was not yet committed to actually running for president in 2012 himself, but that he was more concerned with his nation's future than his own. That would really baffle the right wing, if the guy they view as the most shamelessly ambitious of all recent american politicians were to say, no thanks, it's not that fun running a government these days.
Personally, I am hoping that he does not go down that road. It would be refreshing on one level, sure, but the problem for me is that I don't see anyone else out there that I prefer to Obama at this point. Ha, how many of you will laugh at that. But if you are laughing, I hope that you actually have someone in mind as an alternative to Obama.

I too am busy reading Presidential briefings, but I may take the time to read excerpts or snatch it from the library. I will not, however, donate one personal dime toward reading her book.
Chris, I do hope you are correct about Obama seeking a second term. I can't imagine anyone else more appropriate at this stage and he needs time to finish all the great things he started. But 8 years is a long chunk of time out of your life and who could blame him for not running, especially if he believed someone else could have more success in helping citizens of the US. I have a feeling no one from either party is more qualified than he. And I would hate to see all his good work destroyed by the GOP.
"NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report) - Amid the publicity blitz for her new book, Going Rogue, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said today that "she was looking forward to reading it, big time."
The book has already been a publishing sensation, rocketing to number one on the New York Times bestseller list for Fiction.
Gov. Palin said that the book caught her interest as she was promoting it on Oprah last week.
"From everything I've said about it, it sure seems to be a page-turner," she said. "As soon as I'm off this book tour I can't wait to sink my teeth into it."
Then I saw Palin with Barbara Walters. Oopsie. It was the same woman as the debates and the Couric and Gibson interviews. Inarticulate, poorly prepared, and ignorant of anything that couldn't be written on a 3 x 5 card.
Sarah knew she would be in trouble with Katy and Barbara Walters, 2 women who were expert news commentators, not show hosts. Oprah would never have done anything to anger any of her audience, regardless of party affliliatation.
I really miss Ian Rankin's 'Rebus' novels. His first, post-Rebus book wasn't a success - truly the only Rankin book I haven't finished or enjoyed. I've got his latest, but it's sitting in the pile of 'Christmas Reading' novels, so I can't say whether or not he's back on form.
I think this book will seal her fate and forever brand her as rogue in the worst sense of the word.
The more she is in the spotlight, the more she represents and degrades the Republican party.
Go Sarah!!!!!
Lessee, now. Four hundred and twelve pages, 18-hour work-days, half-day weekends, a crisis in Iran, a crisis in Iraq and a crisis in Afghanistan. Why would ANYONE expect him to take the time out to read that book? Mebbe we should each send him a book to read.
Besides, Sarah Palin actually isn't important enough to the majority of the country for him to waste his time on her book, were he so inclined.
