Researchers at Truecar.com claim that Black Friday may in fact be one of the best days of the entire year to purchase a car. Stating that discounts have been averaging about 4.7% below the sticker price on most days, it is speculated that on Black Friday that will rise to 7.5%
So if a car is on your list of shopping must-haves for Black Friday, head on out and see what kind of a deal you might find. If safety is a concern, heed the advice of the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) and buy something that came in tops on their list that was released today.
Included on the list were the following new car options: Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKS, Volvo S80, Audi A3, Chevy Malibus built after October 2009, Chrysler Sebring 4-door with optional electronic stability control, Dodge Avenger with optional electronic stability control, Mercedes C Class, Subaru Legacy, Subaru Outback, Volkswagen Jetta Sedan, Volkswagen Passat Sedan, Volvo C30, Honda Civic (except SI) with optional electronic stability control, Kia Soul, Nissan Cube, Subaru Impreza (not the WRX), Volkswagen Golf 4-door, Dodge Journey, Subaru Tribeca, Volvo XC60, Volvo XC90, Honda Element, Jeep Patriot with optional side torso airbags, Subaru Forester, and the Volkswagen Tiguan.
For the first year no cars from Toyota made the list due to a new standard in the safety indu
stry that includes roof stability in a rollover.
So, Santa, since I drive an '06 Camry that must down be deemed unsafe (?), perhaps you'd like tp bring me a Mercedes C Class (black) or a Lincoln MKS (black)...either would be fine; with leather interior and seat warmers.
What do you think?
