The rich get richer in the NFL as ESPN is reporting that Larry Johnson is expected to sign with the 7 - 2 Cincinnati Bengals. A day after beating the Pittsburgh Steelers for the second time this season and taking sole possession of first place in the AFC North the Bengals add depth at the running back position.
They clearly think this may be their year and are taking all the necessary steps to make sure they go into the post season as strong as possible. If he runs like he has in the past Johnson will give the Bengals quarterback Carlson Palmer even more options, allowing him to play fake more effectively and open up receivers down field. Johnson is just 29 years old and has averaged 4.4 yards per carry over his career. He has also shown the ability to catch the ball coming out of the back field.
Larry Johnson was released earlier this season by the Kansas City Chiefs amid controversy surrounding homosexual remarks he made through his Twitter account. More on that story can be read in link to the article below.
