It's Leonid meteor shower 2009 time so make sure you set your clock for really early November 17, 2009. You'll need to get up very early to find a good dark place to see the show.
The Leonid meteor shower 2009 will start in the Americas at 10pm PST and 1am EST and will continue on till dawn local time. Peak viewing hours are expected on the east coast at 4-4:30am EST and on the west coast 1-1:30 PST. Those of us watching in the Americas will see about 20-30 meteors per hour until dawn breaks local time.
Based on Mars' position, the Leonid meteors are expected to look like they are shooting directly at us from Mars which sounds like it could be pretty amazing.
I highly recommend setting your clocks and getting up to see the show. Just make sure you leave a little time to go find a good dark viewing spot.
