My boyfriend and I had been together for a year when we finally decided to make our family bigger and so I found an ad advertising a free cat to a good home.
He was a bundle of bright yellow fur and larger at six weeks than the adult cat we had at home. After saying goodbye to his family he jumped into our car where he layed on my lap the whole way home, all four feet in the air letting me pet his belly.
His relaxation in the car would be a great indication of what was to come. Friendly, lovable, and always looking for the next adventure.
He was so large at such a young age we decided to name him Monster Cat and for the last eleven years he was my best friend. The one who was always there when I came home, who never had much to say but always was a great listener. He slept with me every night, curled up against my chest under the covers. I fell asleep to the sound of his purring.
We noticed right away that he was missing and we began searching for him immediately. We found him and buried him today wrapped in my sweater. It was a surprise as we were not aware he was sick. The only thing ever told to us by the vet was he had a heart murmur six years ago. I guess that combined with his age was the problem.
It's been a sad day here, but at the same time a very happy one as we looked at pictures and told stories.
I love and miss you Monster Cat.

it's always hard to lose a furry friend
~~~
Now he'll have endless fields to chase mice and butterflies, lay in the sunshine, and do all the things cats love to do.
Huggers to you!
