Mess on the Countertop ~Who is to Blame?

Lately I have been having trouble finding a good hiding spot for the catnip.  The cats seem to get into it wherever it is placed.  Foolish me took the contents of the chewed up bag of catnip and placed it in a ziplock bag.  The cats were outside so I placed it on the countertop in the kitchen.  I should have put it in a locked box!

 

The bag was shredded and the contents scattered across the countertop.  I wondered which of the three was to blame.

I didn't have to look far.  Lotus was one stoned kitty!

Guess you can't leave your kids unattended, even the four-legged ones!

I am rolling on the floor..how funny!
I planted catnip outside one year..catnip tea is supposed to be good for you..the neighborhood cats stole my plants!

We planted catnip in one of the garden beds. As soon as it started coming up the cats would roll in it and chew it to bits. The plants never reached maturity.

Lotus is a beautiful kitty, even if she has been a bit naughty. If your kitties are only going after bags of catnip, you are fortunate. My Tiberius likes bread and will chew a hole in any package of buns or bread I don't hide. Cornelia loves to chew plastic. She is younger and smaller than Tiberius, so I have to hide any bags of bread on the top shelf of the cabinet. So far, neither one of them has found that spot.

When my Twit was alive, she loved to chew on plastic too. I always found chew marks on any plastic bag that was left in sight.

You know, I don't get the whole catnip thing. When I bring it in the house, my cat goes crazy. She'll just roll around over the plastic shopping bag that it's in. Strange stuff. One of my friends keeps joking that she's going to smoke it and see what happens.

A friend of mine, Joyce...has this huge cat his name is
Travis. He loves catnip !! Joyce sprinkles a good pile
of it on the rug and he rolls all over it !! Eats just abit
then sprawls out to go to sleep for a long nap !!

I usually sprinkle it on the scratching pad and they go to town on it! Then one of them, usually Itty takes a nap or sleeps there for the night.
