Sammy Sosa Face Change Explained

The baffling mystery over former MLB All-star Sammy Sosa's Face change has finally been explained.  The former Chicago Cubs star finally spoke out in an interview with ESPN regarding the mystery of his astonishing skin complexion change which has had the internet buzzing with all sorts of rumors and gossip.  This all came about as a picture of Sammy with his wife Sonia Sosa was published on numerous sites.  The image was taken at the 2009 Latin Grammy Awards in Las Vegas and revealed a much lighter-skinned Sammy Sosa than seen before.  Before and after Sammy Sosa pictures were being searched for online to compare Sosa's previous darker complexion with his new much lighter look.

The rumors started up quickly; was Sosa suffering from a skin disease?  Was he trying to transform himself a la the late Michael Jackson?  Or was this some big paparazzi or other media type hoax to grab public attention?  The answer is none of the above, as Sosa gave ESPN the truth in this recent interview:

"It's a bleaching cream that I apply before going to bed and whitens my skin some," said the former slugger during the "Primer Impacto" program at the Univision Spanish network.

"It's a cream that I have, that I use to soften [my skin], but has bleached me some. I'm not a racist, I live my life happily," said a smiling Sosa during the interview."

It was previously reported by a former Cubs employee, Rebecca Polihronis, that Sosa was undergoing a "skin rejuvenation treatment", which is common among women.  Sosa basically said that he had continued using the skin cream for some time, and in combination with the bright lights on him during the photo taken at the Las Vegas event, he appeared a lot lighter-skinned than previously.

There's been no name given to said skin cream, but it was revealed that Sosa bought it in Europe somewhere.  Sosa joked that he plans to market this mysterious cream since he's a businessman now.  And don't expect this look to stay as you'll see Sammy Sosa's face change back to its normal darker complexion after he's done using the cream.
