Robinson, Texas: 24 year old Trista Lathern faked having breast cancer and stole cash donations to pay for breast implants because she felt it would help her problematic marriage. Trista Lathern even went so far as to shave her head and claiming to be receiving chemotherapy.

Lathern took close around $10,000 and went to a plastic surgeon requesting breast augmentation. The doctor became suspicious when he looked over her medical records and found she did not have any sort of cancer. He took her down payment and contacted authorities via his lawyer. Lathern was later arrested and upon being questoned, she admitted she had never had cancer and wanted breast implants to save her marriage.

Wonder how her marriage is doing now.

That is so sad that someone would feel they needed to do something like this to save their marriage. That is just sad. There are so many women that really suffer from breast cancer, and can't get the help they need. Then you have people like this that fake it to get a boob job. I think it's past the time to save that marriage.

Fraud, it is called fraud, no matter what her "excuses" or reasons were. In this day and age where people die because they can't get their medication or lose a limb to diabetes, this is very beyond low, it is disgusting.

People are desperate to feed their families and some wind up on the street and this one is "crying about saving her marriage"...as the reason for her deception...

The problem is, it hurts the people with REAL diseases who people don't donate because of frauds like this woman...because it makes givers wary of giving.

I think she not only should give the money back to the donors, but have to do 10,000 hours of community service, one hour for each dollar she tried to fraud someone out of. Maybe if she had to donate her time to helping people who really need it, she won't be obsessing on a boob job.

I agree with you Heather!!!! With so many people hurting right now, all she needs to worry about is her boobs. There are so many families being displaced in my area losing their homes. These were working families that have lost their jobs, not knowing where they are going, with children to worry about too. This woman makes it bad for people that really need help.
