I Meant To Do Some Work Today

This little offering is dedicated to the memory of a “Lady” (1967), a “Princess” (1983), and a “Daisy” (2009).  Together, they are chasing rabbits in Doggie-Heaven.

 

 

I Meant to Do Some Work Today

Starring “Streaker”

 

I meant to do some work today

To help my master in some small way

To herd the sheep, to walk the fence

A working dog makes perfect sense

 

But once we got outside the house

I sniffed the fragrance of a mouse

And chased a squirrel up a tree

Then a pile of leaves called to me

 

I meant to do some work today

But all I did was run and play

Was my master mad?  No, I saw him smile

As he jumped and joined me in the pile

I love this! We do all need to play. I was reading the poem thinking about it as a prayer as well as about you and Streaker. Our Master also loves to see us happy and playing, enjoying His creations.

A true dog lovers article. Dogs are great. I tend to prefer cats, but I do love dogs, too. If dogs purred, they'd be purrfect.

Wonderful....
this was outstanding.
My beloved last dog passed almost 2 years ago. My heart wasnt ready for another one, I knew we could find each other when it was time.
Three days ago I received Roscoe, a perfect healthy 4 year old Boston Terrier.
Right now he and my cat Chocolate are each on one side of a door playing "handsies"
they each take turns slipping a paw under the door and slapping the other.
Oh, my heart is full again.

If that was about my dog it would have been like this

I ment to do some work today but I frorgot to wake up

I have the lazyest boston in the world. He sleeps, I go do dishes and he walks to the kitchen to sleep, I go pee he walks to the bathroom and sleeps, The cat tryes to eat his head he gets up moves to the other end of the couch and falls asleep.

You have a lovley golden and you take some great pics.

May i come play? Brings back memories of my children and i. this time of year bagging leaves in pumpkin bags the smell the beauty the fun. We always jumped and played in the leaves. What grand memories. Ill pay anyone to clean up their leaves as living in apts you lose this fun. Wonderful as always sweatheart!! Hugs to you and beautiful streakers!!

I'd like to see Streaker romp, and you streak... :)! No, no... not serious. I'm a dog and cat lover - have both. My dog, a Springer Spaniel, who's 10 now, remains energetic, sweet, and affectionate. She always likes to play.
