Just read this and almost puked! Isn't it enough we are all having financial issues, now they are FORCING us to get insurance we can't afford or go to jail???? Unbelievable!!! When is this sh*t going to stop???
Nancy Pelosi and 219 of her colleagues just voted to force you to buy government-mandated health insurance or go to jail.
You read that right. According to a chilling analysis by the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT), the health care "reform" bill that Speaker Pelosi rammed through the House of Representatives requires you to purchase a government-approved plan or:
Face a penalty of up to 2.5 percent of your income (collected by the IRS, of course) if you fail to maintain "acceptable health insurance coverage."
And refusal to pay the penalty "is punishable by a fine of up to 250,000 dollars and/or imprisonment for up to five years."
Congressman Dave Camp (R-MI), Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee, said: "This is the ultimate example of the Democrats' command-and-control style of governing - buy what we tell you or go to jail."
That's in addition to the other Pelosi-Care mandates that will lead to rationed care for our nation's seniors... limit your health care choices... put government bureaucrats between you and your doctor... and ultimately reduce the quality of care you and your family receive.
The next step in this fight is for similar legislation to be considered by the Senate, and reports from a few days ago... claiming that government-run health care wouldn't be voted on until next year... were premature and erroneous.
According to the New York Times, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid moved to put Pelosi-Care on the Senate floor next week. In fact, Reid filed a motion to introduce his version of government-run health care on Monday, November 16, which means the Senate debate will begin on Tuesday.
The will of the American people be damned... President Obama and the extreme liberals in Congress plan to ram their so-called health care "reform" down our throats with all deliberate speed... They think the American people are tired, that the vote in the House took the wind out of our sails.
They're scheming behind closed doors... making deals... twisting arms... thinking they can do the same thing in the Senate that they did in the House. They think that if they move quickly, they can get away with it.

Maybe us old folks can start a new gang in prison that doesn't involve killing and sodomy but a lot of card games and checker playing. I wonder if they let you crochet in prison? LOL

Now, people with pre-exisiting conditions can have health insurance, but that doesn't mean their pre-existing condition will be covered.
What about the religions that dont believe in modern medicine? gonna put them in jail?
This is the most retarded thing I have ever heard.

Even if everything else went by the wayside as faux bs ... and I'm not saying it does ... even if the bill would actually do everything they say it would (beneficially that is) .. even if that were so .... Excuse me! We go to jail for not having insurance?
I'm sure you've heard or seen this already ... but for those who haven't, notice in this video, Pelosi never really answers the question and also does NOT deny the truth of jail time -- she only implies (imo) that it's fair if people who don't have health insurance go to jail. ("I think the legislation is very fair in this respect ... Next question!"she says)
So even if I believed the rest of the debacle they call a healthcare bill would be good for the economy and good for young, old, and inbetweens alike .... I'd vote it down in a heartbeat if only because of this provision.
Who do they think they are? What are they thinking? Did they wake up one morning and forget what country they were living in? Just how do they think they are going to enforce this crap? We can't even keep underage children from drinking or stripping for a living ... Seems like that would be easy enough compared to the contortion this bill wants to put us through.
Well, anyway ... you keep right on expressing your pov because it's perfectly valid for you to do so. Here's another 10 for you.
