Car Headlights Nearly $200

It's amazing to me the way that they make cars these days. It's so stupid that simple repairs can be SOO expensive. We had a headlight, a fog light, and the third brake light out on our Hyundai Sonata. It's going to cost nearly $200 to get it all fixed. You know why? They have to take the back seat apart to get to the third brake light. Is that stupid or what? What kind of car manufacturer makes it to where you have to take the seat apart to change a light that you know will burn out eventually? Grr. It's definitely time to get a horse.

Yes, indeed, those small repairs can really be expensive.............because of the labor and time involved! We had a brake light go out (in the rear window).......hubby wouldn't take it in to get the bulb replaced, said he would take the back of the seat apart and do it himself......I think the bulb cost something like $4 or $5.00............he was able to do it, thank goodness! Wow......$200......that really IS a ripoff!

But it's nothing new. I have a 1992 Chevy Cavalier. When my flasher light went out, I discovered that I had to take it to the dealer to replace because it requires a special tool.

I'm always glad that I have my son to do car work for me!
I sure couldn't afford to have someone take my car apart to replace a bulb

I got lucky once the head light was only five dollars, I didn't have the tool to do it myself. Luckily the mechanic didn't charge me for the use of his tool or time. That whole two minutes. The tool can be bought for about 12 dollars. Crazy.

ouch..........
I just replaced both headlights, both fog lights and 2 rear bulbs...

cost:
$50 for the bulbs and about 2 hours playing with a screw driver...

Crazy! I just had to spend $907 to keep the old Honda Accord going so I feel your pain.
