Elizabeth Lambert has been the product of much speculation after her aggressive behavior during the University of New Mexico v. Brigham Young Women’s Championship Soccer game. Part of the reason that this story has gained national attention is because this behavior is surprising for women’s sports, but even more so for women’s college athletics.
Elizabeth has already offered a public apology, but she may also decide to be interviewed to offer an explanation for her actions. Afterall, we are only seeing a few clips of the game. During the interview between ESPN and Sports Correspondent, Jared Lloyd, we learn that the refs set the tone for this game by not calling penalties on Lambert sooner.
Lambert definitely is passionate about the sport, but some people believe she crossed the line and should be brought up on assault charges. Do you think that she deserves another chance to play soccer? Or do you think she should take up rugby?

To say "For sure No. 7 needs to be banned from the sport" is ridiculous! Ban a girl for an elbow, but warn the one who throws punches and throws an opponent down from behind by pulling her hair!!! That is sick!
Not too sure if the same thing could have happened to #21 being that her hands were both behind her back for some reason and she did grab Lamberts shorts.
But in either case, niether girl deserved deserved to be assulted in such a violent manner.
She also slide tacked from behind, tripped, and punched these girls. Which is an auto-matic red card. Where were the refs?
Lambert clearly has anger and phycological issues and needs help. She is like a loose cannon on the soccer field. She should not ever be aloud to play soccer for any university or professionally again. That should be her consequence for bad behavior.
Both #7 & #21 need to not only file suit against Lambert for assult. But also against the coach and referees for allowing it. That is just wrong.
Lambert chose to assult these girls, she knew it was wrong and just didn't care. That shows a lack of self-control and respect for others as well as a great deal of immaturity. Her parents clearly failed her on this one by not teaching her early how to respond to others even when you are wronged.
A warning should have been handed down to #7 and #21 though, even if provoked, they could have just moved.
