...as to why the bill passed. Once again, the Republicans in the House, led by John Boehner, failed to respect the law of unintended (but obvious) consequences.

Striking the funding of abortion from the bill ironically had the effect of allowing enough democrats to vote for the bill who otherwise would have voted against it....

They cut out the funding of Abortions and left in the 12 - 20 million Illegal Aliens that will be able to take advantage of the health care bill. They will all claim poverty and guess who will be paying for their care. Guess how many more will be streaming across the border.

Government funded abortion was in more than one place. I wonder it they took it all out.

Worse than just lack of choice, you can go to jail if you do not buy insurance.

The public option will not be the only option. Private insurance plans will still exist and if you can afford to do so you will be free to buy into one of them just as you have been.

I have heard mention of fines, but never jail and I am sure if such a possibility existed, it would have been mention on one of the many anti-reform ads I have seen on T.V. Where in the bill is there such a provision?

The Congressional Budget Office findings indicate that the lowest cost family non-group plan will cost $15,000 in 2016.

Free to spend our grocery money on healthcare. What good will the healthcare do us when we're starving? My husband makes slightly too much to qualify for government assistance... but not enough to afford the CURRENT healthcare plan his employer provides... which is crap insurance that has high deductibles & copays and isn't even worth having.

Social Security and Medicare have been bankrupted by the govenrnment. They were a bad idea to begin with and adding more such programs will only hasten our demise. We won't have to keep telling you about it when it happens. You will remember we told you so.

There has been talk of a film for a few years - three that I've heard about it, but nothing recent. It would make a great film if they did not destroy the book. So, I don't think the film will be made as I am sure the Ayn Rand Institute would be involved and they would not let it be exploited and turned into an anti-capitalist saga.
