Emotional week for all...........on many levels.
I'm actually going to start looking for mourning clothes come next week when I get a chance to go shopping. Mourning, all black clothes traditionally . . . need to research on what it actually entailed.
I'm considering whether to wear them all the time or only on the day of week the bill was passed. Wonder if that is something I should bring up at a Tea Party meeting soon ... mmm ...
Why am I considering wearing mourning clothes? If this thing gets all the way through it is the death of our Republic as we have known it --- and make no mistake, that is what Barack Obama is all about. A total transformation of this country on all levels.
And I'm not too enamored of the GOP bill either ... especially not before it too is vetted at least as much as this monstrosity was and will be. There should be no huge all encompassing bill ... at the very least not at this time.

Ya never know.......it might actually be worth it. We'll have to wait and see. Maybe even give it a chance??
Mourning clothes, eh? Well, make sure they're stylish, at least! :P
Just out of curiosity, don't you think it would take a little longer than what Barack has, even if he's re-elected, to cause a TOTAL TRANSFORMATION of this country on all levels?
Besides, isn't change SUPPOSED TO BE a good thing? *devil's advocate here, GRINNING*
Mm... hadn't given any thought to if I want to be stylish in my grief. :]

Let's see ... "Currently, there are 17 vacancies on the nation's appeals courts, which are organized into 12 circuits across the country.
Meanwhile, with the oldest Supreme Court justice 89 and three others older than 70, it is widely expected that Obama will fill one -- if not more -- high court vacancies during his tenure. "
He has already filled one - and not sure how many other lower court positions (possibly the link above gives some info on that).
In addition, there are the continuuing bailouts, and the host of isms represented in his adiministration (and very few begin with 'capital').
Not to even mention the fishy email stuff, the National Endowment of the Arts stuff, the line walking "fight" with Fox News and to try to keep others from also becoming interested in the stories Fox News reports on ... his and Hiliary's apology tours, the bows, the neglect of defense of true democracy ie Honduras, the uprising in Iran during their elections, the slow lead in to an off-the-cuff comment on the Fort Hood killings on the day it happened, his contemplation of what his next step should be in Afghanistan ... even though this was the war he himself thought was important.
He has 3 more years to do these kinds of things. What will we look like when he's done? We will look like a national aclu acorn rally where hookers, pimps, green maoists, Islamic extremists are sympatized with/ get help and conservative talk show hosts live on death row.
Yikes!
If he's re elected we are done for as a republic and will be well on our way to actually being the USSofA. ;-)
Besides, isn't change SUPPOSED TO BE a good thing? *devil's advocate here, GRINNING*
Depends on what kind of change yer lookin fer. :->
Last Tues was really not very good news for the GOP.............they got the headlines but WE got the bottom line!
Here is the guts of the bill.

Ya GOTTA love those "socialist, marxist, fascist" Democrats! LOL
If they ever looked at history, they would realize that they are walking proudly into what has damned other countries that have supported these same types of leaders; Mao, Lennon, Castro, Che...

Lee. you are very correct. We are seeingf that by a lot of the extream left on this site.
If they ever looked at history, they would realize that they are walking proudly into what has damned other countries that have supported these same types of leaders; Mao, Lennon, Castro, Che...
Yeah, that was Winston Smith's problem, too..........
In addtion, it's silly to use those previous incremental socialist decisions as a means to excoriate those who may be taking advantage of them but who also, now, finally see what the resulting wall will look like should they continue to add that same kind of brick.
What I mean is, just because I ran into one telephone pole with my car doesn't mean I want, should, or have to continue to run into telephone poles from now on.
Just because I choose to have one Long Island Ice Tea doesn't mean I should add a Harvey Wallbanger and two shots of 7 & 7 to that repertoire every night for the rest of my life.
Just because I make one illadvised decision to allow myself to be in the wrong place at the wrong time with a totally wrong guy ... doesn't mean I have to continue to disrespect myself and harm my own future by continuuing to allow myself to do that again and again every night for the rest of my life.
Same with Social programs ... comes a time when ya look up and say wait .... wait just a doggone minute here. That's not the wall I thought I was building; that's the wall I rejected when I first began building; who hijacked my wall, who changed the plans, where is the original blueprints? Put those bricks down til I figure this out!
Just because we, nationally as well as in some cases personally, have fallen into that trap in the past does not in any way justify using those past all but irreversible decisions as the reason we should move forward ever further and deeper into Socialism and Communism.

So when are you giving up your government support programs?
Because everybody will be working for Uncle Sam.......
Go after the people who have been manipulating you all these years,
We needed a bigger stimulus package.
You better hope we get one.
"Go after the people who have been manipulating you all these years,"
Hey, I can't take on the entire United States Government.......
It is the only way she can prove her point, so we don't see how much a Bolshevik she really is.
"It ain't over till it's over"...........
BERF, what's a MBE award?
But, I know Lennon sent his back.......
I understand your statement completely, some friends and family member's were just yesterday talking about how ashamed we are of the way things are turning to a marxist, socialist country just in the last few month's, The land of the free will simply be a statement in history some day soon, IF we are allowed to utter such things without fear of someone hearing us say it. I am glad some of our forefather's are not here to see what is being done to take our freedom away piece by piece. Some do not understand once our freedom is taken by the government the people can not take it back just because they do not like/or want it, we the people are becoming way to submissive.
George, military awards are given because the soldier followed orders given by his chain of command, which begin at the desk of the CIC who operated under the Constitution. You are free to dishonor the nation and system of government with return of your medals. It has happened many times in history, but, IMO, in doing so you cheapen the sacrifice of all for partisan political opinion. Voting and advocating is one thing, dishonoring the nation is quite another.
Jackie, the people spoke with their votes. Your freedom to be paranoid is clear proof your freedom is just fine.
Socialism?? Like Social Security? The FAA? Eisenhower Interstate Highway System? FDA? Medicare?? Do you have the smallest clue of what you speak??
We have a system of governing where spending bills are proposed in the House, voted upon, reconciled with amendment from the Senate and if the President is willing, signed into law. Been that way since March 4 1789. If the Constitutional validity of a law is challenged it is arbitered in the Supreme Court. That's the way works. Good grief...
Environmental Protection Agency they hate so much was created by Republican Richard Nixon. . .
Tsk Tsk Tsk . . . As I said previously:
Incremental steps in a wrong direction. Bricks in a wall. Frog in warm water steps.
Or, put it this way. Those programs didn't seem all that bad, and in some cases did some good ... even lots of good despite the naysayers of their respective times ... and so they slipped through; but they were indeed stepping stones to socialism as surely as night turns to day.
So ... we've got what we've got by way of "social" programs ... Socialist programs. And we may not be able or willing to turn the clock back on them; but that does not mean we should continue to build that particular wall by adding more and more bricks to it.
In addtion, it's silly to use those previous incremental socialist decisions as a means to excoriate those who may be taking advantage of them but who also, now, finally see what the resulting wall will look like should they continue to add that same kind of brick.

GOOD GRIEF!! WHERE DID YOU GO TO SCHOOL?? Talk about a candidate for "re-education." If you don't like our system of governing why the hell call yourself AMERICAN??? Do I have tell you how law is crafted?? Your narrow partisan blinders DO NOT constitute the will of the nation.
Socialism?? Like Social Security? The FAA? Eisenhower Interstate Highway System? FDA? Medicare?? Do you have the smallest clue of what you speak??
