What if today was your last day?

I always try to live with that philosophy........after all, no one is promised tomorrow......only what we've got now. I've lost most of my family (only have cousins left).....we lost two very precious family members this past June.......and have decided to change our holiday traditions.......cherish the time together, do stuff together....savor the moment.
That is exactly why we are going to the Caribbean for a cruise over Christmas.....our family gift.......time together, time to experience God's beautiful world.

Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since we lost my 23 year old cousin in a car accident. It was a tragic eye opener for our family. Life is way too short!

I'm so terribly sorry, Bridget.........I really think accidents like that are the most devastating.........such a horrible shock........and so unexpected.......no one is ever prepared for death, but, at least when loved ones are ill, one has time to prepare. Yes, indeed, life is too short.

It was a shock to all of us, you don't ever expect anything like that to happen to your family. I posted a few posts about him on Gather since the accident.

Bridgett,I went through the same thing almost 2 years ago with my cousin/bestfriend and its always a shock and makes you wake up and really realize how life is to short. I will keep in my prayers!

I had a very quite day. Spent the day on my computer paint program. I love that thing. It's so much fun to draw and paint pictures. Some of them you have seen with my posts. Sometimes I just play for the fun of it.

I would be ashamed with as short tempered as I've been
I'm saying others around here need to change or I will have to move out...but maybe it's me that needs to relax and change my own attitude

There's no "turd" in yesterday
Can you make it go away?

My kids also love nickelback
and this is an amazing track
As poetry it is not bad
some philosphy is sad

My brother died a year ago
last meeting a grainy photograph
went to go out with my bro
and we talked and had a laugh

never dreamed that was the last
time I'd see him now he's past
A pilot dead in sea off France
and we don't get another chance

But thank God we parted friends
with nothing left undone or unsaid
we part and go to unknown ends
before I knew it he was dead
