I really want to see this movie, now I am having second thoughts... Maybe I will wait for it on TV..

It may have a good review because of the popularity of cooking shows at the moment.

Well I don't want to sound negative about watching it...but I thought it was a little boring. It does tell things about Julia Child that most people don't know, and she is a great lady. Meryl plays her so well. Now Julie is the funny one and does some interesting things. I recommend seeing it. So do put it on your to see list.

I saw the movie, and it was enjoyable. I never watched French Chef myself -- don't know why I should have -- but the movie stands well on its own.

so do you ever do any French cooking? You must like to cook, since you went to see the movie. Yes I agree it was enjoyable. What did you think when she put the lobsters in the boiling water alive? haha

I cook rarely. I have done some French cooking, years ago. I never took a recipe from Julia Child, however.

do you think you will try her cookbook now? mmm so do you eat out a lot or send for "take out"? I love to cook but haven't been doing much lately, since its just me to cook for, but I do love to cook out on the grill and still do that a lot.

I eat out sometimes, but often I make very simple meals that don't require a lot of fuss and bother. I'm a vegetarian, and that influences my menus a lot.

mmmm a vegetarian...I would never have thought that about you...lots of salads huh??? so do you eat those soy burgers? I bet you like deserts!!! me I love to put a steak on the grill and have a baked potatoe and salad with it....mmmm makes me hungry thinking about it now. I had pizza and a beer for dinner, it was very good.

I do like desserts, but I avoid them because my waistline doesn't need any help with expanding.

I do pizza now and then. As for beer, I'm better off not getting started with it because I can put away a 12-pack in no time.

mmm well you sound like you can control it very well. my limit on beer is 3 or 4...I do love to drink it when I'm having pizza, for some reason. so what kind of deserts are your favorite? mine is lemon pie....mmmm wish I had some right now.

Ice cream, cheese cake, almost anything with chocolate. I'd better stop; it's making me hungry!

yes Ice cream is my weakness....on hot apple pie its heaven. I like chocolate but can go days or even a week without eating it. thanks for your comments and hope your having a great evening.

yes there was... Julia really has a since of humor...that I didn't know until watching the movie. I didn't get that idea watching her cooking shows.
