Things about my greatest memories my childhood

Was an old Log house that sat upon a hill?

The chinking between the logs was Red Clay Mud.

They didn't have Mortor back then as they do today.

The Red Clay when mixed with water worked well.

and when it dried out it was almost hard as brick.

After all that's what brick is made from.

And Ark. Is the brick capital of the United States.

It wasn't the fanciest house in the country, but it was home.

It had a very large fire place, that burnt real wood.

There was a Barn that sat down the hill from the house.

We had a good old Jersey Milk Cow that furnished our milk.

Us boys would hunt Rabbits and Squirrels for food.

We couldn't wait for snow fall so that we could track Animals.

and hunt them down have them for supper that night.

Those were our recreation, hunting and fishing.

We live almost the same as the early settlers did.

We would hunt with sling shots, and we would make.

Our own bows and arrows, and we would go down to.

The Creek and shoot fish, and if one went under a rock.

We'd reach our hand under the rock and catch it.

Sometimes you might get hold of a snake.

It was Illegal to do it, but they didn't bother a bunch.

Of boys that were having as much fun as we were.

A Game Warden stopped us one day as we were heading home.

With a gunny sack half full of fish, and ask us what we had.

We told him, Fish, and we went through all the things that we did.

That day, He just shook his head and went on his way.

The next time he saw my Dad, he told him about it.

and he told my Dad to tell us that it was against the law.

To do the things that we were doing, but we went on doing it.

Those were some fun days of my child hood, that still linger.

In my mind as though it was yesterday, I long for those days.

But In reality, I know that they will never be, but at least I can dream.

Well maybe more next time.
