Chicago Bull 4 yr man, power forward Tyrus Thomas is out 4-6 weeks because of a left arm fracture that took place at the gym when he working out with weights.
Tyrus averages double digits in rebounding and scoring and is an excellent defender. Tyrus was working out in the gym doing something called a pull up with weights when the injury took place. Tyrus will have surgery at Rush University Medical Center here in Chicago.
This makes me wonder where was the trainer? Do the Chicago Bulls let their players work out in the gym unsupervised? I always thought that the trainer, assistant trainer and conditioning coach were there to watch over the players, assist in work outs so that players don't get hurt.
The time missed will be between 13 and 20 games and all these games count in positioning for the playoffs.
Losing a guy that defends, hits the backboards and puts the ball in the hole isn't an easy thing; that key rebound in a tight game, defense or point scored in the closing two minutes could be the difference between a game won and a game lost. This was something that was preventable with proper supervision and teaching players what and what not to do when working out. IMHO.
