Check your windows for drafts: On a windy day, hold a lighted incense stick next to the window frame, where the two windows come together, or where ever drafts came come into your home. If the smoke does anything but rise strainght up, you have a draft.
Most hardware stores sell a product that anyone can install to help get rid of window drafts. It is called rope caulk. Rope caulk comes in rolls of varying lengths, and is easy to handle. This product is like a rope, and is very easy to install around the edge of your drafty windows. Depending on the size of your windows, it will take maybe 15 minutes at the most for a large, tall, window.
This product is very inexpensive, and can be found for about $6 for a 30 foot roll.
Install this caulk on your windows. Not only will it get rid of drafts, but will save your money on heating bills. Plus, you can install it yourself very easily!
