Looking for a Banana Bread recipe

I've never made home made banana bread before and would like to give it a whirl. There's so many recipes out there to choose from on the internet, but I'd like to know a proven recipe that my Gather friends enjoy.  Any hints/tips? I'd love to see your recipes!

My all time favorite recipe is the one my mom always used - I have it posted here on Gather. Southern Love in Your Tummy: Mom's Banana Nut Bread. It is moist and yummy - and you can leave out the nuts if you want. Enjoy!

I've never made banana bread. I checked the family cookbook to see if anyone had a recipe but there was none.

Thanks JoAnn. I actually found one in the new Debbie Macomber cookbook. I'm going to try that one. Trev volunteered to go to the store to get the yogurt I needed for the recipe.

I would just look in my favorite recipe book. They are all good. I've never had a banana bread I didn't like.

I like the one you sent me with the sour cream or yogurt, but I haven't tried it yet. The only tips I would give is to use ripe bananas (ones that you think have gone bad with the skins almost totally black). It makes a denser, moist bread, and I usually use more bananas than it calls for to get more of a banana flavor. It takes a few more minutes to cook, but is totally worth it! :d

I did use that recipe I gave you. I actually used 5 bananas instead of 6 when I doubled it and it was still very flavorful and moist.
