Yesterday i checked my email and i had one that said

"october sweepstakes winner announcement "

i almost didn't open it, but now i am glad i did, i stated :

you have taken one of our surveys and your name was drawn for the price below:

8GB Ipod Touch

i am sooooooooooooooooooo thrilled, i have never won anything before, and this is really awesome. i have to fax them my info within 10 days and claim my prize

i am so happy about this!!!!!! and i wanted to share this with everyone...

so it does pay off taking surveys...

Which place had that contest? I've never ever won something from a survey site. I've always just assumed they were full of it. Now winning on Gather is another thing- I've never won so much as I've won on Gather. Really, I never won anything substansial until I came to Gather and started entering the contests.

That is a wonderful prize to win! Congrats on your first mega win!! Are you planning on keeping it for yourself or using it as a Christmas gift? I would keep it for myself unless my kids were older- then I'd be torn!

i am not sure yet, i dont know anyone in my family that could use an ipod touch and i will probably not use it. but i really dont know. i have always thought the monthly sweepstakes on survey sites were a scam to get people to do their surveys. but now i know its not a scam. i won it on datatelligence.

Congratulations! I get a ton of notifications like that, but they're all fakes from sweepstakes I've never heard of, let alone entered! It's really encouraging to see that not all of those notifications are bogus.
