There was frost on the cars this morning and by 8:20 AM it is mostly gone! Today is slow to warm yet promising!

I was just listening to my two buddies Click and Clack from "their fair city" of Cambridge on the radio. Know them?
Sunny again here today and 60 degrees already at noon! I'm gonna get spoiled by the time winter sets in! Thanks for posting to Weather or Not? !

Whoa! I did not recognize you there Dan! I have heard of Click and Clack yet, I do not listen to the radio. I use Pandora while on-line and have C-SPAN on the TV so I have no annoying commercials buzzing in my ear while I work. Not a bad temp for the Dakotas, one day I will research our longitude I think your south of the longitude of the greater Boston area even though when you so get snow I have heard that it is overwhelming!

Looking forward to following weather with you through the winter! :)

I lived in FLA for about 3 years and I only recall that we left home in Decembers' winter coat and when we arrived, in Jacksonville on our way to Pompano Beach, we changed into shorts and tees.

Nope. Compared to having had record-breaking heat for almost two months, this really does feel cool, and the weather broadcasts are calling it a cold snap.

Summers on Cape Cod were icy compared to winters here. I haven't been there since I was about 14, but it was great to light up the fireplace at night, even in August.

Yes, those are the secondary benefits, memorable, cozy and often romantic evenings and views of nature changing her landscape for 3-4 months at a time and the changing again. Those are the things which keep me married to the North.

Having lived in Miami since I was in diapers, and my husband being from Cuba, then Miami, I don't know if we could handle winters I think we're going to see, though, after retirement...

The first winter requires the most adjustment and sacrifice. If you are thinking of retirement in the North I would hope you do so with enough funds to hire someone to maintain the grounds. That is the only true hardship: having snow cleared for safety under foot, the rest is LL Bean for warmth while out of doors! :)

I hope the challenge will be as much fun as thinking about it is! We plan our first winter on Cape Cod, which may not be the best choice, but that's the decision so far. We have a little more than three years to change our minds.
John's an exercise freak, so he'd probably think shoveling snow would be a decent warm-up to a work-out!
