When united with the existence of a diversity of receptive structures of every type and classification, generates holidays to Italy unique. Foreign tourists consider this an overwhelming combination and visit Italy's artistic cities year-round, crowd beaches during the summer months, and mountain areas all through the winter ones. The land of Italy is various, going from the sea to hills and mountains, offering several possibilities to those tourists who visit its artistic cities, islands and beaches.
Food and wine is an enjoyable aspect of any stay in Italy. Italians love their food and are proud of their wine. In fact, menus don't usually include foreign wines. It's worth noting that standing up at a bar is less costly than sitting at a table. Breakfasts tend to be small affairs, perhaps coffee and pastry or bread and cheese or cold meats. Holidays in Italy involve so much more than pizza and pasta. The menus are extremely flexible and there are local differences. Risotto, a creamy rice dish, is popular and gelato is the word for the many varieties of ice cream. Tiramisu, a coffee flavored cake, is another desired dessert.
Between the more well-known cities of art we always remember Florence, Venice, Rome, Pisa, Siena, Bologna, Siracusa, Milano, Torino, but Italy is a true museum to the open air and its country is riche of testimonies and works of art worthy to be visited. The range of Italy's hospitality is completed by beautiful residential homes and tourist villages right for both families' and youngster's holidays.
A trip to Rome is all the time memorable and there is so much to see. The highlights are the Vatican City with the great art works of Michelangelo and Bernini, the Coliseum where the ancient Games took place and there are many churches and museums. Florence is another city, immersed in history and the work of the great Renaissance artists. The domed cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is most remarkable, as is the Campanile Tower, the Medici Chapel and the Uffizi Art Gallery. For romantic holidays in Italy, the place to head for is Venice. Its canals, squares, bridges and narrow streets give the city a unique feeling.
Rural Italy is turning more and more admired with tourists. Tuscany is particularly attractive with hilly and mountainous topography in much of the area. There are eye-catching valleys too and attractive Tuscan farm houses. The southern region of Campania contains the city of Naples and there are several tourist destinations, including the Greek Temples at Paestrum, Sibyl's Cave at Cumae, the Roman ruins at Pompeii and the volcanoes at Vesuvius. Holidays in Italy, whether in town or country, offer diversity, sunshine and a warm welcome from the friendly local people.
Italy's main tourist holiday resorts propose Hotels of every category (from one-two-three-four stars to five stars) which provide a great hospitality for every need; the farm holiday resorts, hotels and residences are a great income of this region, they are located throughout the whole territory and are situated along the coasts and on the hills. In Italy holiday deals there are top class hotels, bread and breakfast accommodation and campsites. Many persons remain on farms in rural areas, looked after by a family and eating delicious home cooked meals.
