You can never truly love
As long as you fear
Fear asks:
Dare I do this?
Will I be hurt?
Will he betray me?
Will I betray him?
Can my love last for a lifetime?
Can his love last for a lifetime?
Will he try to control me?
Does he really respect me?
And on and on
Notice how each fear question centers around I
The non-existent ego so terrified of its own dissolution
The Poor in Spirit are blessed
Because they own nothing
And are free because
They possess everything
Love relationships fail
Because of these ever present fears
The focusing on the fears
Brings them into being
Love is giving everything never holding back
If you cannot love this way, without looking for payback
Your love will grow cold and you will never know
What you might have had.
