The trip is being planned and saved for. The goal is by next summer we can jump in our car, or better yet a rented RV, and head across America to see the sites.
We know all the big places like the Grand Canyon, the Everglades, Poconos Mountains, etc......
What we really want to learn about are the small, attractions. You know the ones, almost every town has one. Near where I live for example we have a HUGE mouse and an even bigger Muskee claimed to be the worlds largerst.
We are also very interested in the little mom and pop type diners that serve fabulous food.
Please share your experiences with me. I live in Wisconsin, but there is nowhere we want to exclude from our trip if it seems like we may enjoy it.
No matter how big or small we really want to see it all.

They have Spookhill and Bok Tower Gardens
we have lots of attractions here in Hutchinson, including the Cosmospere
In Southwestern PA east of Pittsburgh there is Ohiopyle Falls. It's a beautiful park with waterfalls and white water rafting. Nearby is Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater. Not far from there is Laurel Caverns. Of course there's a diner/family restaraunt called Glissan's on route 40 in that area. They have THE best chicken noodle soup. The dinner rolls are also the best and they are HUGE! Of course everything was always home made. It's been years since I've been there. They make a mean peanut butter pie too! If you want more info on PA or New England just let me know. I'm sure I can come up with a lot more for you. =)
Oh, and if you're looking for diners specifically, you may wan t to check out the show Diners, Drive Ins and Dives on Food Network. They featured one local to me. I didn't see that episode but my sis in law from WV came to visit and just had to go there. Without me of course, so I will make it over there one of these days!
He was a truck driver all his life and showed us most of the USA he always wanted to get a RV and take his time really getting to enjoy the world
My favorite trip with him was in Jackson Mississippi
He took me to tons of museums and I learned how they grew cotton and produced product from it
I was in 30 plus states by the time I was 12
Enjoy your trip : )
Stopping at places that others would have just passed by
We had so many memories because of doing this
My daddy would drive down old roads in his big truck that others would have stayed away from
We always joked at some point he was going to get stuck somewhere :)
People forget to take time to enjoy things anymore, everyone wants to rush through their lives
