Scripture Reading 5

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.~John 3:16

But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.~Romans 5:8

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not.~I John 3:1

8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.  9In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live though Him.  10Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  11Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.  12No man hath seen God at any time.  If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is perfected in us.~I John 4:8-12

18There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment.  He that feareth is not made perfect in love.  19We love Him, because He first loved us.~I John 4: 18-19
