A 40-year old man (Jason Rodriguez) entered his former workplace and opened fire this afternoon in Orlando. The former engineer shot 6 people and killed one. After the shooting he fled the building to his mother’s home, where he was arrested and detained by a SWAT team.
Records and interviews indicated that the man was fired for performance problems, had a history of divorce, and filed for bankruptcy in the spring of 2009. The motive, however, is still undetermined. The story is still developing as officers and lawyers attempt to interview the man.
