A memorial show for Rob Appell

I'd mentioned yesterday that I wanted to do a memorial show for Rob Appell on my internet radio show.  I got great feedback and interest for it.  I hae scheduled it for tomorrow night at 10 p.m. until 11 p.m. eastern time.

I'd love to have as many people attend as possible.  If you can't make it but would like to have something read in his honor please feel free to post a comment on this thread, and I promise you i'll read it.  There will also be a chat room open and you can post something there and i'll read it.  If you would like to call in that would be great!  To participate in the chat room you have to be a member of the site, but it's free to join and they don't spam you.

For those of you who can't make it to the show it will be archived and i'll be sure to post a link to that after.

he passed away this week from a heart attack. I'm so sorry you had to find out by me posting about his memorial!

I didn't know him well. When I first joined Gather he was one that I would read, some where along the way, just lost base with him. I looked for him for awhile, must have been when he moved and lost his leg. He wasn't on for awhile so I thought that he had quit or something.
I always remembered his name, and new that a few people here was real good friends with him.
My heart goes out to them, in their time of sorrow. I know they will miss him.

Hay brenda how you holding up?It seems like everywhere I go someone is talking about him. I'm in such shock I can't think straight. The real world with Bob aka Rob was awesome. The times I've spent with him and knowing him i'll never forget . He was different in his own way however once you got to really know him he was awesome. Just shows that looks aren't everything. I never go by looks and I'm glad I didn't with him.

Hi Laura - thanks for the opportunity but I'm sure I've missed the deadline. I just wanted to say that Rob was one in a million - so unique and I'm grateful that for some reason in all this big world, I met him here on Gather - I will never forget his humor and his sincerity. He deserves so much to be remembered and honored. Thank you. May he rest in peace. He would love that you're doing this too!!! Salud

Rob Appell was one in a million and he would so much appreciate that you have honored him this way, Laura. His whole life was radio and talking and being Rob or Bob - he made me laugh so much and I will carry some of his humorous stories in my heart for a long time. I treasure the times that I knew him - but now realize how very short life is - his energy won't just dissipate - it will hang around for a while and I'm sure you'll see signs of old Rob floating around the station! Rob was the best, I remember him getting me thru the tuff times of my Army son and alway want to kick his butt, he spunk and humor got me to stay. May he get all his cookies he want now, I be making them snickerdoodles for ya, Thanks to you Lori for doing this
