I'm a BzzAgent. What follows is a bzz report focused on Minute Ready to Serve Rice.
I admit it: Sometimes I don't look forward to writing these reports. I don't always love the products I receive, and I feel weird about posting negative feedback (though I do it anyway). So when I signed up for the Minute Ready to Serve Rice campaign, I figured I'd begrudgingly write reports: After all, rice isn't sexy, is it? But I was wrong.
I received the package just today. It took me about 15 seconds to decide to try one of the little cups of pre-cooked, microwave-heatable rice for lunch. I peeled off the top of a cup of brown rice and peered inside: It looked like cold, cooked brown rice. Not super appealing. But I shrugged and placed it inside my microwave for its one-minute cook-time. Around the 45-second mark, I started hearing little crackling noises. Hmm. I wondered if the rice was exploding.
Nope. I pulled it out, let it sit for a minute, and then dug in, carefully. I enjoy rice now and then, but I'm not a superfan. And it was... surprisingly delicious! The grains were nicely cooked; not mushy but also not undercooked, so they had a nice slight crunch to them. And the flavor was mmm-mmm good. Rice-y, of course, but each spoonful left a delightful aftertaste in the back of my throat. Yes, a good aftertaste! Shocking, huh?
Anyway, I can highly recommend the Miinute Ready to Serve brown rice variety. I haven't tried the white rice sample yet, but I'll let ya know how it goes when I do! Look for some at your supermarket: It's easy, quick and tasty food.
