Will someone out there in cyber land or on...

It has been over a year since I let my son use my computer...he was only suppose to use it to search for a job, but evidentally he got side tracked and started searching for dating services, some very unsavory. The problem is this...I am still getting e/mail on my account from all these girls, and men wanting to hook up with him, many saying they have sent pictures. I have never opened any of them up, merely mark them as junk, but they are relentless, and it is very annoying and bothersome. Does marking them as spam help? Most of the offers are from local areas. Once I started getting these he was forbidden to use the computer unless I was in the room with him, but beings that he does not live with us anymore I was wondering could he still be doing it on another computer and using my e/mail for contact these little sluts (sorry...this is what they are) and the men are worse, names like Loulicious Louie, or Nim Foo Haung Low.........when will it stop?

He used your email account? Why?? There are lots of free email accounts out there. Mark them as spam and the spam filter should start to kick in.

Thanks...he used my account to get on line about Job Search and such...I trusted him, and in the beginning I thought it was okay...but I was just learning myself and did not think anything about it at the time, but then as time passed I suppose the thought, 'gee, this is fun, and it escalted into something ugly for me. I will use the spam filter from now on, and thanks again.

Depending on your email provider, you may also be able to set up a filter based on the words that commonly appear in the subject lines from these unsavories, and set them to go straight to trash.

If you can identify the sites they're coming from, you might also be able to remove your email from their system or ask them to. Some sites are more helpful than others about this, but it's worth a try for the aggravation it will save if they help.

Why don't you paste and copy the emailers e-mail names and invite each to talk with the others. Then step away from the circle.

Maybe these sites have a contact us link (usually at the bottom of their main page) you can go to for help, explaining your situation and seeing if they can offer help, as well.

Frankly, I'd just change my email account to something else, and let the current account get suspended - during that time, any email sent to it will get returned as undeliverable.
