And Now For Something Completely Different or Same Old Story Same Old Song

I wrote this for another group, in another forum, in which I was rather 'immersed' in for a few months.  Though I didn't participate and comment, much; long story; something about MINE, MINE, MINE..... I watched the people, the interchanges, etc... etc....  Wounds were opened, feelings got hurt, arguments were happening.... ALL over politics, misdirected 'legal' crap and lack of being able to put oneself in another's shoes.   I wrote it in a day or so, after thinking about all the many personalities and mis-cues in communication.   I posted it on HALLOWEEN; my trick or treat I guess.   I have done this a couple of times now after observing people on forums, as so many people, no matter WHAT their educational ability just do NOT know how to effectively communicate with others.   I'm that way, too.

I decided to share it here also.

AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT OR SAME OLD STORY SAME OLD SONG

I’m just a Land Use lurker
And THIS is what I’ve found
Some might think this stupid
Some might think it sound

Politicians are talking heads
They do it for the Glory
If they’d look a little deeper
They might find a different story.

Not based upon their turfy wars
And insistence on limelight
When they talk down to ‘other’ people
They’re going to get a ‘fight’

Try toning down your patronize
Put yourself into their shoes
You say its not about the people
Boy do YOU need a clue.

RESPECT ain’t all about smilin’
And talking sweetly dear
It’s about reading ‘tween the lines sometimes
And taking time to hear

There are a lot of THOSE ‘wheelers’
Who RUN far from the ‘stench’
Of glad handers who would ‘use’ them
And throw them in the trench.

The Rubicon Forum’s language
Really turns some ‘wheelers’ off
Some are ‘rough’ around the edges
BUT STUPID THEY ARE NOT !


TO THE WHEELERS ON THIS FORUM
Be you rich or be you poor
There ARE people working FOR your good
Who might know a little more…
Of the workings of this engine
It’s known as government
They can ‘smell’ beyond the roses
The ‘smell’ of excrement

There are things they HAVE to do sometimes
And It seems they’re selling out
Agreed that some are doing this
So it’s understood your doubt

But all are not the same you see
Some understand the plot
It’s like working on your engines
Or tying a barrel knot

They’re street smart
in a different way
I hope you can understand
They may not know YOU well
But they ‘CARE” about this land.

We lose a little ‘turf’
Each and every single day
Because of personalities
Getting in the way

It may not make much sense to you
As it doesn’t make to me
But first and foremost REMEMBER

DO what you can HOW you can
And don’t let people ‘guilt’ you
Just look at them for who THEY are
YOUR thoughts are no less true.

Leave the planning to the generals
But ONLY those who care
You’ll know them by their ‘willingness’
To read and hear and share

They’ll take the time to listen
And try to bridge the gaps
Of soldiers in the trenches
And suits who look like saps.

To Cross the Rubicon means
To those that might not know
To pass the point of ‘no return’
Forward we must go.

If you want to know about Rubicon
Listen! You will hear,
The name’s a symbol that the fight’s begun
No turning back in fear!

I know this verse is sing song
And won’t make sense to some
But remember all are being watched
Some just don’t bang a DRUM

Those that can do will keep on doing
Thank them every single day
Those that can’t jump in that often
Will use their time to pray.

Enjoy your beer and challenges
Your wheels and inside parties
I’m done for now
I’m all sung out…

Time to eat something hearty.
