I come from a long line of family members that have a huge love for books. My mom was a bool lover, and I am so glad she passed that on to me. When my mom was growing up, a lot of the books that my great grandfather had were passed on to her, and my mom spent a lot of time collecting books that she loved as well.
Honestly, there isn't a surface in our home that is not covered with books. But still, it never ceases to amaze me on just how many little hidden gems there are in my home. Growing up, the library was my favorite room in the whole house. I would pick a book from the shelves, sit and read for hours. I learned some of the funniest stuff from randomly choosing my reading material.
In the last several years though, I had my own place, started collecting my own books and now I pretty much have everything I am going to be reading in the future planned out for months. But earlier this week, my dad reminded me about my library room days and the books that I see everyday, but have sorely neglected. There really are so many good tomes there.
So, with everything being as crazy as it was this past week, I decided to take a day and sit and read from the books on our shelves. Already I have had a hard time deciding which little gem to read my way through first.
I did find a tiny little book though, with a banjo (I think its a banjo at least) in gold embossing on the front cover. It's Sonnets from the Portuguese by Elizabeth Bennett Browning and each page is beautifully illustrated with black and white silhouttes. I think I will let this one simmer though and take it a sonnet a day.

Yes, I love books and a house would not feel like a home without them.
Now I have books covering ever surface of my home...plus more in boxes that I can't find a place for them to rest. Then there is the Kindle with lots of books on it too!
