This is scary. I admit that when something big like this happends and people die it doesnt really bother me like its fake or something. But this is just too close to me and really brought me into the real world. I just moved here to Motana in January from Fort Hood. My ex-husband is stationed there. He is over in Iraq right now so he was not there yesterday. But it just really makes me think, you know. What if me and the kids had decided to stay there? I mean arent we supposed to feel safe on one of our own military bases? The world is really getting cruel.

It's so sad.
I seriously wish that if people hated life and others that much that they would just off themselves and leave everyone else alone. Or get help.
It's just one more indication of the hidden, untreated stresses faced by military personnel all over this modern world. My heart goes out to all those who are affected.

I'm so glad you and your family are oK, but still, it can and does happen everywhere. Families are being torn apart, so many times now, one deployment after another. Friends of our son's (married couple) have each been deployed at either the same time or different times, to both Iraq and Afghanistan, at least 6-7 times EACH, at last count.
That's too much.
I don't understand how that soldier got so many shots fired with two handguns, they don't hold that many bullets!
Also, when one feels that they have 'nothing left to lose', why do they feel the need to take down others who have a LOT to lose?
It just never makes sense....
Hugs,
Mar~
