True Friends

I've heard it said, “You can never have enough friends!”

I suppose that’s true...IF...

you choose friends

who accept you as you are

who tell you the truth no matter what

who truly listen to what you have to say

who make you better together

than you are apart

That being said....

Want to be my friend?

One has to "be" that kind of friend in order to "have" that kind of friend. Your poem could also apply to love. Right?

"into each life a little rain must fall" - maybe your somewhat dampened ego is just the autumn before the spring. A time of deepening roots and strengthening form before your blooms erupt again! Your work is always thought provoking!
