As we all know that Windows 7 is out in market now. You will not regret if you upgrade to Windows 7 and it will be a worthwhile upgrade.
Microsoft ran a little faster than they new how with Vista, which hurt them a lot. If Windows 7 is not good then people will either stick with XP until 2013 or switch to Linux, Mac or the next OS.
This article explores some of the new Windows 7 features. We will take a look at enhanced MS Paint an Wordpad and see how they fair up. Windows 7 User Interface is less cluttered and much tidier than previous operating systems. But still, there should be 'standard' and 'advanced' modes in Windows 7 applications, so that new users could move to their desired mode more easily, while more experienced users could use the programs with all the new features.
Wordpad
The new Windows 7 Wordpad is now equipped with the ribbon User Interface. The ribbon User Interface is very helpful for Wordpad users and by now, many users are in favor of this new Wordpad as they all are familiar with this interface. The home tab in Windows 7 Wordpad seems to be a little unusable in the ribbon User Interface. Microsoft probably left this in for one of two reasons: one reason is consistency and the second reason is that they get room for expansion in future releases.
MS Paint
The new Windows 7 Paint has enhanced features and you can use keyboard shortcuts in it; thus, neglecting the menus. When you start Paint, you will see a blank canvas spear in the work area, along with a Ribbon. A new Ribbon – the strip across the top of the window that shows what Paint can do – makes program easier to use, with choices displayed out in the open rather than in menus. With Paint’s enhanced features, new look and ribbon menu system, you will use the mouse a lot more, which you can not ignore in graphics software. The Windows 7 Paint has a set of brushes which will be useful for many smaller-scale graphic projects.
Now you can also add fun shapes in Paint easily, which will make annotating screenshots. Windows 7 paint has Full Screen option, which allows you to view your work without any discomposure.
In Windows 7 Paint, users can create and edit picture files also known as bitmap (.bmp) files. It can handle various pictures formats including .tiff, .gif, or .jpeg. A bitmap file is a map of a picture created from small black, white, or colored dots, or bits.
Drawing a Picture:
STEP 1. Click the Start button- All Programs-Accessories, and then click Paint. You can navigate to Paint on the Start menu to select a recently opened file.
STEP 2. you can also drag a resize handle on the canvas to resize it.
STEP 3. Click a drawing tool. If available, use the Outline, Fill, and Size buttons for the selected tool.
STEP 4. You can choose one of these option: Click 1 for foreground color or 2 for background color.
STEP 5. Drag the shapes you want by holding down one of the following:
●The left mouse button to draw with the foreground color.
●The right mouse button to draw with the background color.
●The Shift key to constrain the drawing to a proportional size, such as a circle or square.
STEP 6. Click the Paint button, and then click Exit.
