Obama is on now. He's talking about his conference, not Ft Hood as they said he would. Oh there he is talking now. He has no new information actually expresses his condolences.

Col I saw him. He thanked everyone under the sun for putting whatever conference he was at together, and assured those there for his conference that their issues would be top priority ... and then he addressed the shooting. Picky? Probably. But I actually didn't care a whit about his thank you's due to those who put that conference together; I wanted to hear about the shooting. +sigh+

I heard that too, Col. I was surprised at all the thank yous first.

Cnn has something posted about it being three soldiers that did this. Its so senseless. My brothers and I have desperately been trying to reach three friends and a cousin who are based at Ft. Hood, but I think it might be a while till we here from anyone because my guess is they have a lot of people calling in. Scary.

The one in custody is dead. They claim he was the primary shooter. He was killed by local police during the shooting.

This is strange. He was using hand guns. No military weapons.

Unless you actually know something about the situations, perhaps you should just shut your pie hole.

In fact, some have pondered over the fact that handguns were used (*I* thought it was strange that a soldier would use handguns) ... it's unusual, out of the ordinary and apparently means something or could possibly point to something. What, I do not know.

It's also been speculated that the shooter(s) were soldiers or impersonators of soldiers, or moles, or simply soldiers who lost their sense of reality somehow ...

soldiers don't walk around this country nor on military bases armed. They have weapon lockers and check ammo out for the range.
A graduation ceremony for soldiers who'd completed college courses was being held, so this is probably not much different than the college shootings that occur when some imbalanced student cracks under the strain and chooses "suicide by cop" as the way out. Unfortunately they always take innocents with them.

They are saying the shooter was a commissioned Officer about to be deployed.

Fox is also reporting that he made it clear he did not want to be deployed and that he also recently converted to Islam. Don't know if that's true and how it matters.

It is Terrorism. Islam is a perverted excuse for religion. Its an excuse for anarchy and control of anyone who dares to disagree with this sick philosophy. These people want nothing less the utter destruction of anything that stands in their way. Obama and the Democratic Left Wing sissy's better wake up.

It was Major Majmalik Nidal Hasan a Doctor. Psychiatrist. Actully the two hand guns is not all that suprising. You don't get your hands on a military weapon that easily.

It is totally a terrorist attack. I'm sorry, Obama became a Christian in time for the vote. He is a Muslim, he wears no cross, does not attend church. Dallas just avoided an attack by a surprise---Muslim on one of our towers, and at the same time another attack was stopped in another city, our lovely government said they weren't connect. I feel like John Stossel, give me a break!!! People died, our military is so insufficient that they don't weed out OBVIOUS TO EVERYONE ELSE, Bad apples. Just look at the name and start asking serious questions. I think this was just a distraction, the real deal is coming I think.

Whether it was meant as a terroist attack or not, the man was as they say, a couple a french fries short of a happy meal, a brick short of a load, 2 inches short of a foot . . .

The fact he was Muslim (all of his life apparently from later reports) and that it was being reported that he did actually shout Allahu akbar when he shot ... well, it kinda points to "terrorist" action, as well as crazy.

But Sharon, as much as I agree with you on some of your points (one of them being Stossel's point or was it the military guy's point ... that the PC crap has got to stop in the military, and we need to start callin it what it is again), as much as I agree on those points, I think you've gone a little over the deep end when you start virtually accusing Amy of being in cahoots just because of her name.

Now they say the shooter is not dead and is in stable condition. The cop he killed isn't dead either/

First question out of my mind as I was listening to the radio in the truck while making deliveries was, "is/are the perp(sp) Moslem?" By the time I had Michael Savage on the radio, the name was revealed and all I can say is I was correct and "Whoops there it is!"

Army: Suspect Said `Allah Akbar!' Before Shooting

The base commander at Fort Hood says soldiers who witnessed a shooting rampage that left 13 people dead reported that the gunman shouted "Allah Akbar!" before opening fire at the Texas post.

Lt. Gen. Robert Cone told NBC's "Today" show on Friday that suspected shooter, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, made the comment, which is Arabic for "God is great!" before the rampage Thursday that also left 30 people wounded.
