The prompt is to use todays forum to commemorate someone

Sometimes
Sometimes I lie awake,
Pretending that you're here,
Sure that I hear you whispering,
Sweet nothings in my ear.
Sometimes I allow myself to dream,
Of moments I long to share,
I can almost hear you breathing,
Feel your fingers in my hair.
Sometimes I almost cry,
When I think of what we've missed,
The time we've spent apart,
The nights we should have kissed.
Sometimes I question destiny,
Is there really some big plan?
Why is it so hard to touch you,
As only a lover really can?
Sometimes I think I'm crazy,
To look for love at this late date,
But if you reach for me tonight,
I promise not to hesitate.
Sometimes I lie awake,
In the wee hours of the night,
Sure that you're coming soon,
To make the whole world right.

I love this for its gentleness.
I love this for its language.
I love this for its nuance of remembrance.
I love this for its hope.
But mostly,
I love this for its love.
Job very well done.
