My Requiem
How peaceful now to rest my head
this final time, it's true
my only regret in leaving Earth
is parting dear one from you.
Forgive me, if I turned my head
to pursue a distant star
In search of those I loved so long
and cherished from afar.
Death is but a part of life
don't hold me back with sorrow
Think of me as happy now
No more pain will greet tomorrow.
My spirit will rise to meet the Son
above the grey and dismal day
and there I shall wait patiently
when you too will pass this way.
