A question about Gather pictures

Hi there,

I'm thinking about making a photo calendar... Not sure yet.  But I dont have any pictures on my computer.  I was going to save some favorites from gather.  But I'm wondering how the quality would be if I did that?  I don't want to pay for a calendar for the pictures to be all messed it..

have ya ever printed pictures from gather?

I have copied some of my pictures from gather, after deleting them from my computer, the smaller picture is to small, you have to click on the picture and get the bigger version. what ever program your using.. should allow you to view print preview.. to see how it looks.

As Kevin said, those are not the "best" pictures (size). Sorry you don't have the originals.

No I sure have not taken others photographs and kept them, when sent to me I have a folder I keep such things in, then when the conversation is over I do my best to delete them.
I get them mixed up with my own photographs if I do not have such a system.

Now I would think most people who take photographs keep the originals. Now if you like someones photo, why not ask them if you could have a bigger sized one?
I have poster sized photographs I had blown up, from originals of mine which came out gorgeous.
This might be a idea for you?? Then all the copyright stuff can be dealt with at the time you ask whomever as well.
Just a idea..... I shrink mine to be put onto the computer.

it would be my own photos.. im thinking about this for my inlaws..so it would be of my kids
They would be small, but could be layered together to use 3 or 4 photos per calendar page.

I would suspect that the quality would be too low to do that if you took them from Gather. Now if you are talking about your own photos that you have the original files for the quality may be OK for a calendar. It would depend on what you camera is set at when you take the photos. I take all my digital pictures at high quality in case I want to enlarge them.
You need a print quality file. The picture should be 300dpi for a decent print. Some places will take 100dpi but be advised this will only work for small photos and will not be of quality.

Chances are that they will be too small as they are only about 550 pixels wide and at about 72 dpi. You usually need at least twice that size for calendars. I've done calendars with small photos, but they really don't come out all that great especially since you usually pay a lot more for customized calendars.

Yes, I've saved them to my photo files and then printed them from there. Worked fine.
