Okay here is Contest #1, this Contest which is open to all residents of Gather-land is for two ...yes two....Precious Moments Ornaments. I have two MNIB (Mint New In Box).

The Contest starts today 11/05/09 & runs for 5 days, it will end on 11/10/09.

The First One is item # 340324B year 1994

Girl With Wreath, Teapot Shape Hanging Ornament, MNIB (Mint New In Box)

The back reads' Surrounded With Joy', and there is glare reflecting off the ornament, so nothing is wrong with it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Second one is

# 541214 year 1998 Precious Moments Porcelain Snowflake Hanging Ornament MNIB (Mint New In Box). Back Reads "May All Your Christmases Be White". Has 198 PMI on back also.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now these  also have two suprises that will be in the shipping box...= it is a suprise so you will not find out until the winner posts what they won. (If the winner wants to post what they have won).

I do different themes each year for Christmas, because I have collected many things for decorations for our tree. One of the things I collect is Precious Moments items of all kinds. I have a few Precious Moments ornaments that I got as gifts over the years.

This year's theme is going to be white and gold.

Shirley, a white and gold tree will be so pretty.
My first PM figurine was a gift from that I was hooked.
I try to do different themes every year, this year will be Coca-Cola, and Hallmark Coca-Cola.

Oh, wow. This brings back so many memories. These figurines were something that my mom and I collected when I was a kid. I was always enrolled in the Birthday Club and we would display our pieces in a big cabinet.

One year we even drove from NY all the way to Carthage MO to see the Precious Moments Chapel. We met Sam Butcher twice and got some of our bigger pieces autographed. We even had shirts that we had painted with Precious moment figurine images that we wore to a convention in Buffalo.

As you can see these figurines have been a rather large part of my life, and I'd love to win them and give them to my mom for Christmas.

I went to several PM conventions, and workshops but have never met Sam, worng place but the right time. I do have a few autographed figurines.

I imagine it may be harder to meet him now. This was when I was much younger. We met him once at the Buffalo convention and once again later in the Chapel in MO. He even called us by name once remembering us.

I have photos of us with our painted shirts on with him, and for the longest time a shop from where I'm from in NY had a photo of us and Sam hung on their Precious Moment cabinet.

My older daughter collects Precious Moments. With my husband on unemployment I'm not sure what gifts I will be able to give out this year to anyone. Either of these would be great as it is something she collects.

Hi Elaine, these are so pretty! I especially like that teapot ornament. I have a slight weakness for teapots (I love 'em!) but I just don't have the room (or income) to collect them. So I only currently have, ahem, two teapots, one Winnie the Pooh that I bought at Disneyland a million years ago and one that I'm going to be giving to my mother. It's pretty and I love it but, no room. So I'm going to put some silk flowers in it and give it to her as a gift for Christmas. That's why I'd love to have these PM ornaments, mom likes them (me too) and they'd be great for a Christmas gift for mom. What with money being so tight, I am being as inventive as possible for gifts for the family.

I have one teapot, it was sitting on my stove, when my salt shaker -tweety bird, old fashioned looking one with a metal top--took a swan dive off my slef above the stove and hit my Mickey Mouse Teapot. the spout this kind og broken and it is a Micheal Graves for Disney teapot, it works, but ya know...
It is kind of funny that a tweety bird salt shaker took out a Mickey Mouse tea pot ;-)

Oh Elaine, they are beautiful. I knew they were Precious Moments because of your Precious comment. My niece brought me a Precious Moments figurine last Christmas when she came to visit from High Springs, FL. I have it sitting on my china cabinet. Kind of ironic that one is the teapot. When she and my nephew came to visit I had to make pots of tea after pots of tea. They are big time tea drinkers and since they visited I have gotten a whistling tea kettle and some teapots that I can make tea for them when they come. I would so love to have these. It would just mean alot to me. I would cherish them as well since alot of our Christmas ornaments were ruined when our basement flooded, I cannot store anything in my basement for fear of a flood. However, I am sure that you will choose the best person to receive these. I can see above there are lots of comments. I wish everyone good luck.

Those are adorable! I love Christmas ornaments and can never collect enough! I don't have a specific theme that I look for so my tree tends to be a fun mix. I think these would look wonderful on my tree. Of course I could be nice and give them as gifts to family or friends but I think they're too cute and I'd just end up keeping them. :)

I have so many Christmas ornaments.

I usually do a mix - some of all of my ornaments, or a theme. This year I am going to do Coca-cola - using all of my coca-cola ornaments.
These are so cute! If I won, I would give them yo my friend for Christmas. She loves Precious Moments, and has a small collection of the figurines.

i think that these would make a great gift for my sister. a few months ago her and her boyfriend moved into a house together. this is the first time she has had her own house outside of our mom's. she just gave birth to my nephew on the third of november so this will be a special christmas for their new family and i think i would give this to them before christmas to adorn their first tree.

Both of these ornaments are very pretty. If I won them I would break them up into two separate gifts. I have recently had to give my two weeks notice at my job so we are down to one income in our family of four and money is tight right now.
My Mom collects Precious Moments figurines, so I would love to give her the teapot ornament. I also have an Aunt that the snowflake ornament would be perfect for. I drew her name for our family Christmas party. I could even attach the snowflake ornament as a decoration on the outside of her Christmas bag.

Oh, it was for the best Elaine. Everyone was always hateful and I was feeling stressed out every day when I had to go to work. I do have another job lined up, and I will start on Nov. 16th. I am just excited to get back to work, as the bills never go on vacation.

I would love to win either of these! I would give the ornament to my step-son & daughter-in-law to put on there tree. I don't think they have been able to purchase many ornaments in the 1 1/2 years they have been married, so I know it would be a blessing to them~

Oh Elaine, these are both so pretty. I buy my youngest daughter a Precious Moments ornament and/or gift every year and these are two I've never bought. These would be wonderful for her this year if I win. I love that little bluebird on the lid. When she was younger I bought her a little musical toy, it was a tree with a swing and that little bird was on the top. She just loved it, I wonder if she still has it now.

I bet your daughter has a wonderful Precious Moments Collection. The bluebird is cute isn't it, there is a Precious Moment figurine called "The Bluebird of Happiness" I belive it is retired. There is a cake topper with Bluebirds Called to have and to hold bluebirds of happiness it is not retired.

My Living room is a mix of personalities, Precious Moments, Southwestern art, Disney, and Coca-cola. It is not cluttered but I think I am going to go with one theme after we are done painting, not sure what yet.

For years we lived in an apartment in California and visited family in Michigan every Christmas . So we never got a Christmas tree.

Now we live in a house in Michigan and get a full-size Christmas tree but don't have many ornaments yet. These would add to our collection.

I love teapots. They bring back many memories of my mothers,aunts and sisters all sitting around drinking our tea. My mother and aunt are gone now and I don't live near my sisters,but whenever I see a teapot,I feel like I'm home again.

I wouldn't mind winning these. I'd either give them to my mom for Christmas or give them to Haley and Parker. I've been thinking I would get them both a special ornament every year to start a new tradition. Last year when we were taking down the tree and packing everything up at my mom's house in WV she gave my sister and me all of our old ornaments given to us by various people. I liked that. And nearly every year my grandma attaches an ornament to everyone's gift.

these would be great - they are quite lovely and we have never had a Precious Moments Ornment, I would give these to my kids - every year we get them each a new one (some dated some not) but something to make that Christmas special - they love showing them off to everyone who comes by :) - they know which ones are theirs, and when that long in the future day comes when they will have their own tree they will have MANY ornaments to take with them :)

I would love to have them for my eldest daughter. She is 17 (will turn 18 in Dec.) She has had a tough childhood as she became pregnant at 15. She now has a two year old son who is beautiful. She lives with me but will be moving out within a couple of years. Last year she asked me to buy her a small tree to put in her room. She carefully decorated it with lights but had few ornaments to hang on it. Her thoughts were that this tree was for her son. She would value them as a keepsake for this time in her life. A time when although still a child she has her own son. It is difficult being a mom and a child. This would be a perfect set as there is one for her and one for the baby..

I love these.. I would love to have for myself and give another to my niece as I have been collecting precious moments since I was 5 , my mom has always bought them as a gift for x-mas for me one each year,then unfortantley stopped as some got expensive and were unable to buy anymore...Now my brother is following this tradition with my niece and Id love to share in on it,I dont have much this year so this would be a great gift to add to what small thing I have already

I love them both. I would like to start collecting ornaments for my 2 daughters every year for Christmas. They are only 1 and 3 now but I think it would be a nice gift for them when they get older, to have a collection of ornaments for their first homes of their own.

I would love to have the ornaments to give to a child in the area who has a serious illness that has placed a very heavy financial strain on the family. She has collected anything Precious Moments since she was two years old and I know they would be a wonderful addition to her collection.

My daughter loves Precious Moments. She has had a rough year and these ornaments might help make her feel a bit better. She lost all her possessions when she fled a domestic abuse situation.

Wow...I can't believe the number of entires. These are great prizes. Oh well, I'll go ahead and add my entry. Both of these are great prizes and you're so generous to give them away. If I were to win, I would like to surprise my mom with the teapot ornament. She likes to add an ornament or two every year. She's not the hallmark type, but she may find something silly...like those ornaments that come on candy canes filled with candy. One year, she added that from my nephews' candy. I think this teapot would be perfect for this year because it brings to mind the warmth and closeness of our family despite the obstacles we've faced. I would like to give the other ornament to my MIL in honor of my three beautiful nieces.
