Mud-Slinging Makes My Television Look Dirty..

Hope all have been enjoying their week so far.  I have been uber busy with scholarship applications, school, and work!  Exhausting I say!!

It disappoints me that during my leisure time, I decided to sit down for a moment and watch the news.  I haven't watched television or even picked up the paper in so long, I felt lost regarding my current events!  So, I sat down, took a breather and watched..I regret that decision now. 

The local news show I was watching had only five minute segments with actual news information in it.  After that, it was advertisement after advertisement about the candidates for our local election for Legislator.  What a waste.  I counted 6 advertisements in a row, throwing insults and accusations back and forth between the two candidates, Owens and Powell.  Nothing constructive, nothing promising, just banter and a waste of my rare leisure time.

I belive the elections have taken place.  Or perhaps they have yet to be held.  I honestly don't care at this point.  Politics should not have to be "picking the lesser of two evils."  If a politician cannot win votes based on his own skill and good works, avoiding the degradation of others, then, in my opinion, they are not fit to lead us or any other group of people.

Am I the only human being who thinks this makes sense?  Sometimes, I feel I must be, for the advertisements still keep coming, gradually growing worse and worse each time.  Perhaps I should become a politician and show them all a thing or two!
