Great Smoky Mountains - Roaring Fork

Let me say that in the more than 30 years I have been traveling to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, I never expected the Roaring Fork Motor Trail to be something that would amaze me. Oh how I was wrong. Located just outside Gatlinburg, this one lane, one way road brings you a sample of the park in just a few miles. You'll find log cabins, roaring waters, and great mountain views. On our recent visit we also got to see mother nature's fall color show and two black bears. What a treat. We were just there in June and I totally agree, it was spectacular. I hope to see it in the Fall some day. Beautiful photos.

Luckily we only live about an hour or so from Gatlinburg (all depends on traffic). We had been to Dollywood prior to taking the drive through Roaring Fork. After our experience, we'll definitely go back when we get another chance.
